For a document, waiting up to an hour in the Pristina municipality HINA citizens call on the government to make dialogue with unions

The public sector strike is causing trouble to the citizens of the Pristina municipality to obtain documents. Because of the strike, citizens are forced to turn to digitized services while waiting about an hour to obtain documents. Meanwhile, those in need of documents that are not obtained in e-kiosce [...]

Despite citizens' complaints, the Pristina Community Union Association said the strike would continue until the fulfillment of their demands.

Citizens Feghjlije Zogaj has expressed outrage over the long wait for document release. It requires government and trade unions to leave their anger and start work.

I just got here, but I see it's a long line. I asked those who waited and told me we were waiting for an hour, now we're waiting... Let them leave their anger (government-indicate) and work harder for the people”, she said.

Citizen Sabit Ademi, who had come to the municipality for the second time to extract the documents needed to register the car, is disappointed about the strike, until he said it was not their fault, but must respond to the government and not punish citizens in this way. I was interested in a tax to get to register the car, but they don't work, they're reportedly on strike.

But now I'm running out of regular registration time, I have to pay my sentence because they don't work on writing the document that I'm entitled to, that's unfair... I believe there are other ways to choose, not to condemn us, because these don't work, I get punished, no matter how long I'm here. Now if I don't do it today, I have to pay my sentence... I was yesterday and today, they don't work, they're saying back at the door, they're working.

Behram Krasniqi, a citizen from Pristina, who has been waiting for an hour for a document, has voiced against the strike. He told Kosovo Prees that the fault is the politicians who are not being understood among themselves.

Well, what I do is these political issues are happening. Politicians can't understand one another because the protests are not good at getting... For a certificate it'll take an hour... I'd like it not to become this mess, but to have solutions”, he said.

Ahmet Gashi from the Association of Unions of the Pristina municipality told Kosovo Preis that the decision to close the strike will not come without executive reflection.

Until today, the strike is continuing and there is no other decision that changes the position of strikers. We are now set to begin a dialogue with the government. There has been a meeting with the president, but so far there is no other”, he said.

While apologizing to citizens waiting to be supplied with documents, Gashi said in some cases exceptions are being made and several services are being performed.

Furthermore, Gashi has asked the government to talk with him, as the decision for 50 euros a month for public sector workers has not been their requirement.

If you choose our demands, we continue the strike... We also ask the government to talk to the Greek Council of Independent Unions, this is our demand that as soon as possible visit this problem is resolved... The split amount of 50 euros is the only economic package the government has proposed, but it has not talked about and it is not like the reflection in terms that it has even talked to the Union of Independent Unions Council”, he said.

Meanwhile, the Union of Independent Unions of Kosovo from August 25th has launched a public sector strike in the country. They are demanding planning and entry into force as soon as possible of the wage law, meeting the law on pension schemes and paying 100 euros until the adoption of the wage law. /kp/
