Harsh attacks south of Lebanon, at least 18 killed

At least 18 people have been killed in southern Lebanon after a series of Israeli air strikes at night, the country's health ministry has announced, while the Israeli army says four of its soldiers have also been killed.
Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said they have hit militants and infrastructure linked to the Iranian-backed Hezbollah armed group.
Events come a day after the signing of an agreement between the US and Iran aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East, including the permanent disruption of fighting in Lebanon, writes BBCPeriscope broadcast.
However, both Israel and Hezbollah have continued attacks on each other after the declaration of the agreement, raising questions about the future of the ceasefire agreed on between the US and Iran.
The US Agreement envisions halting hostilities on all fronts and respecting Lebanon's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Israel, meanwhile, has declared it has no intention of withdrawing its forces from Lebanon and insists the conflict with Hezbollah is divided by the war with Iran.
Lebanon's state news agency reported that nighttime bombings in the Nabatieh region in the south of the country on Thursday have been among the worst of the war, with at least 18 killed, 33 injured and several damaged buildings.
On the other hand, Hezbollah said it has hosted an Israeli group south of Lebanon, destroying three tanks with cruise missiles and hitting troops with rocket and artillery fires.
