I was remembering the time when, together with Secretary Albright, we traveled to Kosovo three years ago when the 20th anniversary of their victory and ours was being celebrated, in preventing ethnic cleansing and the very existence of Kosovo”, President Clinton said.
President Clinton also told of the bust that Kosovo set up to Secretary Albright in honour of its contribution to Kosovo's liberation.
“We walked the streets of Pristina, with Kosovo officials and stopped at a boulevard where they had even set up a beautiful bust as a dedication to Secretary Albright for the work he did there. I'm very proud of the life that he lived, and I'm grateful that Hillary and I were friends with him, said Clinton.
Former American State Secretary Madeleine Albright has died on March 23rd this year at the age of 84.
She died of cancer, became known in a report published by the Albright family on the social Twitter network.
She was surrounded by family members and friends”, the Albright family statement said.
Madeleine Albright was born in Prague of Czechoslovakia back then on May 15, 1937. She and her family moved to the United States in 1948.
Madeleine Albright was the first woman selected in this post in 1997. It served until 2001 in the administration of Bill Clinton.
Albright was the secretary of state at the time NATO's attacks on Serbian targets were carried out, leading to Kosovo's liberation.
