“Ike asphalt, invest in health”, FSSHK says 5,000 doctors and nurses missing in Kosovo

He says such a desire will remain only an unmet dream, as he alarms that Kosovo doctors and nurses are quietly leaving Kosovo towards Germany, other European countries.

For giving a service to what our politicians are saying, we need another 5 thousand workers, the dream has to be, because you see they don't even want to hire me. The needs of Germany and the states of Europe are on the rise because there is a trend of aging and there are no real health professionals and there is nothing to hide here. If Germany requires close to 120 thousand health workers, including doctors, nurses especially for care of elders, they have found a very suitable field called Kosovo and Albania. Albania is already empty, this phenomenon has only begun in Kosovo. Only around are 2, 3 agencies who recruit these new people who we train and go there and serve them, pay taxes for them”, he says.

The head of FSK, says that based on a study carried out last year, it turns out 75 percent of medical students have indicated that after completing studies they will leave Kosovo.

That, according to him, is disturbing, as much is being invested in youth schooling and then the state is failing to create employment conditions.

We've done a study over and asked students 75, and the students said, "We're doing the medical faculty to get out, nobody even though we teach them here doesn't think they're staying, and these are because of the wrong policies and that such a statement has to push them now not just young doctors because they don't see the perspective. It should be well thought of when it comes to health how we're going to stop this road, because it's usually Europe's open shoulder, if you've spent your schooling as a family. We are risking a lot like Bulgaria, like Romania like Serbia now, like Albania. But it's still going in silence here because we don't have real interstate relations, and companies have started coming in recruiting nurses”, he says.

Syla has several requirements for the new government, expected to be formed by Vetevendosje and the Democratic League of Kosovo.

He says what he promised in the election campaign must be accomplished.

As he advises them to leave asphalt behind and invest in health.

“Requests are clear to keep promises that were given before the electorate. That means growth of the budget, federation insists and requires that the budget be beaten, the LDK has demanded 200 million, but let the asphalt go and invest in health. The second to increase the well-being of health workers, here we have neither security nor health in that workplace. The third systematisation of jobs and depoliticisation, we have places where we don't have a doctor we need to fix them, the sooner the supply is regulated and the change of the procurement system in health, we have an administrative guide for levels, and we need to use it”.

And this government has to deal with specializations, so three years it hasn't had specializations given us the specialization we need because we've got endors, and the last one for dentists to be employed. As for nurses, he has to talk to the Ministry of Education. We have a problem here, we have a lot of private colleges that are producing a lot of nurses and the market is not coping with them. The next government has many tasks which I will present to it in a very sad way, if they want we will co-operate as with everyone if the union is not normally critical --”, he says.

Even though all previous governments promised health insurance, Syla finally says she remains with this government to finalise this process initiated years ago.

I expect much from the incoming government to get that draft to reconsider gathering the commission and the sooner I proceed to the new parliament of the Republic of Kosovo. The mechanisms I've been constantly critical of, we've managed to smooth it down is the information system that something's done, is the list of drugs is the price and list of services, these components keep the money if it accelerates with these jobs and the pilot is implemented, then I hope that within a year and a half it will start with their implementation. Besides, it needs to be invested in public system devices so that we can be competitive in the market”, he concludes.
