For the first time in QKUK, brain surgery is performed with modern neurosodoscope technique

The neurosurgeon clinic at the University Clinical Centre in Kosovo has marked an important moment in developing neurosurgic services, successfully performing operations with neurosendoscope.
It is a modern and minimal invasive approach that allows for more advanced treatment of brain pathology and increases security during surgical interventions.
KKUK's announcement says that on July 6th and 7th, the Neurosurgeon Clinic welcomed Germany's renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Gousias Konstantinos, who, together with the clinic's professional team, led the implementation of these procedures.
During this visit, two important interventions were successfully carried out: operating a hippophyse tumor through neurosendoscopic approach and operating a third brain tumor with neuroscopic technique”, the KKUK reported.

According to KKUK, both operations have also used neuronavigator, a modern device available at the Neurosurgy Clinic and which increases the accuracy of surgical interventions.
“into both interventions was used by a neuronavigator, a modern device available at the Neurosurgeon Clinic, which enables precise anatomic orientation during the operation, increases the safety of the procedure, and helps conduct the interventions with maximum precision, in line with contemporary standards of neurosurgeonia”, the report notes.
QKUKK reports that both patients who underwent such interventions are in good health and are continuing treatment according to the doctor's plan.
The institution estimates that the visit was important not only for clinical success but also for professional staff development.
Besides clinical success, the visit also had a special professional and educational value. Throughout the procedures, neurosurgeon doctors, anesthesiologists, instrument nurses and staff of the operating hall took active part in practical training, benefiting direct knowledge and experience in the implementation of modern neuroendoscope techniques and use of neuronavigator”, the report is now said.
According to the KKUK, this co-operation represents an important step in advancing the professional capacities of the Neuropolitical Clinic and in expanding the range of modern services offered to patients in Kosovo.
