Granit Jaka refuses Chelsea and ends speculation: I want to make history with Sunderland

Granit Jaka has dismissed the rumours of a transfer to Chelsea, confirming that she will continue her career in Sunderland despite the great interest of Coach Xabi Alonso, with whom she had previously collaborated at Bayer Leverkusen.
The Albanian midfielder spoke after Switzerland's victory over Colombia at the 2026 World Cup, making it clear that his decision is final.
“Sunderland has been my home since day one. We're all very happy. I've decided to stay where I am, the most important thing is family. I'm ready to make history with them.”
Sunderland closed last season in seventh place in the Premier League and secured participation in the League of Europe, while club leaders had no intention of allowing Jaka's departure. On the other hand, Chelsea remained outside European competitions for next season.
Jaka also commented on Switzerland's success at the World Cup, as his team provided the quarterfinals qualifications following the penalty victory over Colombia.
“And I can't completely believe what's going on... Today is a special day for all of us at”, Jaka said.
Switzerland will face champion in power, Argentina, in the quarterfinals of the World Cup. /Telegraph/
