27 Years of Bytyqi Brothers Murder sought responsibility by Serbia

The Albanian For America Organisation has commemorated Agron, Mehmet and Star Bytyqi on the 27th anniversary of their assassination, calling for the authors and ordering officers of the execution of three Albanian-American brothers to be brought to justice.
In a public statement, the organisation recalls that the three brothers -- members of the Anti-Atlantic Battalion “ -- fought under the Kosovo Liberation Army's symbol of freedom of the country, but were later arrested, sentenced to prison by Serbian authorities and executed by Serbian state structures.
“Today remember with respect Agron, Mehmet and Ylli Bytyqi, three Albanian-American brothers, members of the Atlantic Battalion, who, under the KLA's emblem, fought for Kosovo's freedom but were brutally executed by Serbian state structures after pre-manded and sentenced to prison by the authorities of Serbia”, the organisation's response is said.
Albanian For America estimates that even after nearly three decades, justice in the Bytyqi case remains unfulfilled.
This anniversary “reminds us that delayed and denied justice remains injustice. Even after 27 years, the officers and perpetrators of this crime have not been brought to justice”, the organisation points out.
According to her, despite continued demands by the United States and repeated promises by Serbian officials, the Bytyqi family still expects the perpetrators to be held accountable.
Despite the repeated promises of Serbian officials and the unbroken demands of the United States, the Bytyqi family continues to expect justice, while Serbia continues not to provide the answer owed to the truth and law”, the report further says.
In the end, the organisation risks that the full dawn of this case is an obligation not only to the Bytyqi family, but also a test of Serbia's institutional responsibility.
“Determining justice is not only an obligation to their family, but also a test of Serbia's readiness to take responsibility for a crime committed by its state structures”, the Albanian Formerica reaction concludes.
