During the search of a car, 500 packs of cigarettes ready for the FAST market and about 300kg of non-refused smoking have been found, allegedly smuggled from northern Macedonia through mountain roads in the village of Lubish of the Year.
“On the date 24.04.24, in the region of the Year, from the upper unit has been banned by local license plates, run by suspect S.Z., aged 47 from the Year. During the vehicle's search, it has been noted that there were 50 trails (500 packages) of cigarettes ready for the FAST market and about 300kg of smoke-cut refusal allegedly smuggled from northern Macedonia through mountain roads in the village of Lubisht of the Year.
During the search, 200kg of processed Marlboro packing tobacco has been seized at the suspect's house.
In all, 500kg of tobacco worth over $6,000 has been seized, while customs evasion is over 20,000.
The “related to the case all actions have been undertaken in co-operation with the State Prosecutor, where the alleged prosecutor's order is sent to the detention centre for 48 hours, while smuggled goods and vehicles seized and sent to the customs-and-and-white terminal”.
