The recogniser of the political circumstances, Agon Maliqi, has given an interpretation of why the bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Kurti and Ukrainian President Zelenski did not occur in Athens.
Maliqi has written that with the help of the US, Kurti could hold such a meeting.
However, according to him, Kurti has behaved as a “caboj” and has lost political capital to seek international assistance.
“I am hearing complaints about why Zelensky has ignored Kosovo in Athens, while holding bilateral meetings with Serbia. Such a meeting would easily be feasible with US assistance. But that's when this town's position in international relations ends up acting like a cowboy and losing political capital to seek US assistance or anyone with weight within the EU”, he wrote.
