Albanian professor wants a beach just for Muslim women, suggests Spille

Pedagogia Malvina Tafciu suggested in an interview for “Good Moring Albanians” that a beach be made for Muslim women in Spille, setting the example of the beach in Turkey.

Tafciu stressed that she herself feels good with the special dress of Muslim women on the beach and refuses to be tried for her elections.

“We are talking about a democratic society, which the foundation of democratic society is cultural diversity. The moment you violate fundamental, individual freedoms that you specifically undermine the entire system of democratic life. If I go to a beach that doesn't have people like me, I know very well that I will be prejudiced because they don't have the problem with my dress, they have Islam as a whole.

Why is it that, instead of denying the right to the beach to Muslim women and committing discrimination, you cannot afford to enjoy the beaches and the beauty of nature? As Turkey has, there are specific places for Muslim women. One of the beaches we Muslims are attending is Spille. There are many ways and forms of how I can enjoy life and use public spaces,” Tafciu said.

Not many times Muslim girls and women have been prejudiced on the beach for choosing to be covered in burka. This time the debate was born in Italy. The head of an Italian municipality has sparked controversy in the country, with its declaration against the practice of entering the sea in other clothing besides bathing and bikini clothes.

Anna Maria Cissin has mainly promoted Muslim reactions, as her statement about staying on the beach in clothes as unacceptable was exciting to them.
