Pancasts calling for unity and warning against bloodshed have emerged in Rostovin after the Russian town was briefly occupied by Wagner mercenaries.
Brother! Let's prevent the bleeding! There are no enemies here! We'll only win together!” reads on those slogans as seen in photos posted by a local Tutina channel.
According to him, posters appeared at various locations, including two parks, Gorky and Ostrovsky. The BBC has been able to confirm that photos have been realised there.
It is not clear who placed the banners, but the initiative may have come from the authorities.
On Saturday morning, the Wagner group of Yevgeny Prigozhin invaded Rostov, a city of more than a million people and the headquarters of the main Russian command centre for military operations in Ukraine.
Mercenaries later left the city on the evening of the day after the Kremlin announced an agreement under which Prygozhin would be transferred to Belarus. Since then nothing has been seen or heard from him. /Periscopi/
