European plan: Romania issued country for Kosovo even after agreement in Brussels

Special Emisar Miroslav Lajcak was committed to talking to the five EU states that have not recognised Kosovo. Kurti has admitted that she has sought a kind of guarantee to get recognition of the five after agreeing between Kosovo and Serbia. Romania is one of these five states, from which the newspaper [...]
Now, at the last meeting we had on January 20th, I insisted that the five non-recognitional states of the European Union will change their stance with the act of agreement, because full normalisation [of relations] is assisted precisely through recognition by the five, which has not yet joined most European Union member states”.
So had Prime Minister Albin Kurti said on January 27th, before he accepted the European proposal for normalisation of reports, as European and American officials asked him to.
In an effort to get a “po” for the European proposal, special emissary Miroslav Lajcak, immediately visiting Pristina, has started the meeting of representatives of five EU states that have not recognised Kosovo.
Now that Kosovo and Serbia have accepted the European proposal for normalising reports between Kosovo and Serbia. The Express newspaper has asked Greece, Spain, Romania, Cyprus and Slovakia if their positions have changed over Kosovo.
Romania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says this state has welcomed the will for compromise that Kurti and Vuciq have shown and supports the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia to achieve peace among themselves.
“Romania fully supports the EU-mediated dialogue, as the main channel for effective and comprehensive normalisation of reports between Belgrade and Pristina, which can bring lasting peace and stability to the region” highlights Romania's MPJ.
“We welcome the will for compromise, witnessed by leaders from Belgrade and Pristina, during their meeting in Brussels on 27 February. We express hope that the ongoing negotiations on the annex of the agreed agreement will soon bring results, and implementation may begin”, Romanians further add.
Romania, however, takes its stand against Kosovo independence, which it considers <x0 single-minded”.
“Sic you may know, Romania has not recognised Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence, and our stance remains the same. However, without prejudging our national position on Kosovo's status, Romania has had constructive approaches, including agreements on regional co-operation, the signing of the ASA, visa liberalisation or other questions”.
On the continuation of meetings with representatives of five EU countries on February 17th, Lajcak has met with Romania's Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu to talk about Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
Named as the best <x0 completion”, the Romanian top diplomat wrote that “Romania strongly supports the EU's emissar in the progress of dialogue and encourages efforts for lasting peace and security in the region”.
After the February 27th meeting, there has also been reaction from Slovakia and Greece.
Slovak diplomacy head Rasitlav Kacer has said he welcomes the fact that Kosovo's prime minister and Serbian president have expressed their readiness to proceed with implementing the EU proposal. Cancer says it is now necessary to become a huge task and has expressed Slovakia's support for Josep Borelli and Miroslav Lajcak for the ongoing activity.
I'm glad to hear positive news from Brussels. I welcome the expressed readiness of Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq and Prime Minister Albin Kurti to continue with the implementation of the EU proposal. It takes a lot of hard work now. Our support is for Borell and Lajcak in the work they do on behalf of the EU”, Karce wrote.
Greece's former Prime Minister George Papandreou has reacted to developments yesterday in Brussels under the dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia.
“Progress achieved in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue is a positive development for confidence building in our region. The EU-backed “Agreement on the road to normalisation between Kosovo and Serbia” will contribute to peace, security and will give new impetus to Western Balkan membership in the EU”, he wrote.
