Ukrainian Army Enters a Key Town East of the Country

Kupiansk is an important area for Russian forces east of Ukraine, as they are supplied through it in the war that has begun against Ukraine at the end of February.

Ukrainian Special Forces have published photos on social networks where soldiers are seen in the town.

This progress could be considered among the most important since Russia has withdrawn troops from the Kiev region in April.

If confirmed, this victory can be used as a sign that the Ukrainian army can reverse Russia's occupied territory, with the help of weapons being provided by the West.

For Russia, this advance of Ukrainians can be seen as a serious setback.

Earlier in the day, British defence officials have said Ukraine has advanced 50 kilometers in Russia-controlled territory.

The Russian “Forces are likely to be caught unawares”, the British Defence Ministry has said.

Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky has said on September 9th that his army has scored significant victories and that 30 settlements have been freed around the Harkivi region, due to the launch of counteroffensive earlier this week.

American officials have also said they are seeing the advance of Ukrainian forces in the areas of Harkiwi and Herson.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the invasion of Ukraine on 24 February.

He calls the war <x0 special military operation” to demilitarise Ukraine.

The West has responded to Russia, striking the economy of this state with severe sanctions.

As a result of the war, thousands have died, and millions of others have been displaced from their homes.
