Wessel's lawyer: Horrible, Prosecution orchestrated meeting with EU ambassadors for indictees

Emmerson has said the prosecution's claims of possible investigation into the witnesses are ridiculous and insulting.

” Why are witnesses involved in this protocol? There is no reason to believe that protection corrupts them. It's funny, offensive and not serious. The opposite is true. For the internationals to be called witnesses this system must not be implemented. So minimum should be disfellowshipped from any person who is not a victim. Anything that can be done to make the number manageable, or we will be late for two years”, Emmerson said.

It is a process where each side must have confidence to present its own issue. If the prosecution says you can't have a defense pledge, that's funny. I'm afraid everything can fall because everything is based on trust between parties. These are threats to witness co-operation”, he said.

Wessel's lawyer has added that the prosecution has orchestrated meetings with European ambassadors on the case of the accused, and, according to him, this is shocking.
