His family has testified in the police that he has long suffered mental health problems and for five years he has been treated.
During the interrogation Shehu did not show regret for the crackdown on Berisha. Tirana's prosecution has seized the 31-year-old medical cards.
He is charged with crackdowns because of duty and deliberately injuring, while the prosecution is expected to seek a “prison arrest measure”.
The event took place two days ago on the road connecting the Democratic Party's headquarters with the Nation's Witnesses' boulevard. Gert Shehu, escaped his bodyguards and managed to punch PD leader Sali Berisha, as the latter marched into the boulevard.
It was an unlikely blow by Berisha, who fell to the ground after being punched, but although with wounds on his face it ended the protest scenario.
Berisha's bodyguards and Democratic Party sympathisers, who have made it possible to neutralise the 31-year-old.

The young man has issued conflicting statements, for although he has said that he had personal resentment, others are taught that he has given no reason. The 31-year-old has been communicated with the arrest measure at Trauma Hospital.
