Anything else, claims Mate Granic, is the product of various manipulations.
Former Croatian Foreign Minister and current special adviser to foreign policy in an interview with Sarajevo commercial television “Face” said the only purpose of the initiative presented to the EU Council of Foreign Affairs was by current Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grliq Radman to discuss how to help BiH as a sovereign state on its path to the European Union and to preserve the breath and final letter of the Washington and Dayton Agreement, including the constitution of the three people living in that country.
Granic claims that after the Dayton decisions, the Croatian people lost some instruments of protection of national life interests, such as the opportunity to elect their member of the BiH Presidency, so this said it must be corrected by an internal agreement and Croatia wants the EU to help.
The other “all non-papers are rotations and this is a clear initiative for discussion within the EU”, Granic said when asked about various documents that appeared in the media on changing borders in the Balkans.
He noted that Croatia strongly supports the principle of border instability, which is the position of all relevant Western countries, including the United States under the administration of Joe Baiden, who knows the Western Balkans well.
That, Granic added, means support for BiH's territorial integrity and sovereignty, and this was Croatia's position constantly after failing various plans to end the war there. He added that Croatia's legitimate right is to demand that the essence of Dayton and Washington agreements be respected, which it does at its initiative.
“How much legal representatives of people will agree is their right, but Croats should choose their own member of the BiH Presidency and nothing else”, Granic said, rejecting claims that Croatia was interfering with BiH's internal affairs.
