Thaci: Kosovo to listen to US, otherwise we will have consequences on economy, politics and diplomacy

The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, in an interview by New York of the United States, has said Kosovo suffers on the economic, political and diplomatic level if it does not listen to the US.

We have the message that Kosovo should be loyal to partnership with the United States of America, must be correct, responsible and sincere, and the pledges it gives to realise. Likewise, as Ambassador Grenelli mentioned in his own message, that Kosovo must fulfill its obligations, its responsibilities and be concrete in promoting issues that are of strategic interest to Kosovo for the Western Balkans and the United States. So Kosovo needs to listen to the advice of the United States of America, otherwise we can have consequences on the political and diplomatic level of membership recognitions in international organisations. But what is even worse will also be able to stop economic investments that will then have irreversible consequences for the country's economic development, but for further steps. There are no more important issues for Kosovo and its citizens linking with the election policies of the day when it is compared to violating the US reports. This shouldn't happen. On the other hand, Thaci said that anyone who claims to replace the US partnership with a temporary and culling address makes a strategic and historical mistake.

“My message as Kosovo president is very clear, Kosovo must make the right decisions, clear, not complicated, but complete, that ensure and guarantee full trust and partnership with the United States of America. Those who claim to replace this partnership with a temporary warning address make strategic and historical error in Kosovo's geostrategic orientation with the life-long and full trust relationship with the United States of America”

The president also recalled once again the message of the American ambassador to Germany, Mr. Richard Green for the Kosovo dialogue issue, Serbia.

“Ambassador Green's message has been accurate and clear that quick action is required and in no circumstances Kosovo is perceived in Washington or anywhere in the world as obstructing developments in the region or foreign Euro-Atlantic or European prospects. We like Kosovo up here have walked very closely with the United States. We have jointly won Kosovo, built up Kosovo's independence, gained recognition and were members of the US-backed international organisation”, Thaci remembered.

The president also spoke of visa liberalisation, where he said the European Union must liberalise visa without conditions.

The president also spoke of his meetings with Ambassador Green, American Congressman and Albanian friend Elliot Engel and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeii.
