Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and Albania's Edi Rama have held a joint press conference after signing agreements between two states.
Rama praised Hoti for paving the way for dialogue with Serbia, and re-remembering the fact that, according to him, it was he who removed the obstacles Kosovo was burdened.
“I am especially pleased that today I am with Avdullah Hoti, who has wisely and courageously unblocked a frozen process and removed a key obstacle to Kosovo's self, paving the way for the continuation of the only line of international conduct that Kosovo has established since the first day of its birth, dialogue and steadfast affiliation in the large family of countries that were key to its liberation, in partnership with the EU and the US”, he said.
On the other hand, Rama also spoke about the mini-Schengen project, which, according to him, has been removed from the discussion taboo.
He said this project could be the starting point for recognising Kosovo from Serbia.
“I am so glad that the taboo of the regional vault has fallen and I repeat here that the regional branch is our children's project. A project that no man at any age can take hostage, and should not destroy by exploiting terms of representation by our people around here and there. Regional Schengen is a project that will build directly in a better future for our children and children's children. It is a transformative project that we need to break away from the past, and a process for recognising Kosovo from Serbia that can only be realised through diplomatic routes, wisdom, patience to win a battle. Kosovo is a sovereign state that cannot be questioned by anyone who is still late to recognise it. It is up to Kosovo as well as Albania not to abuse freedom”, he said.
