Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti commemorated today the pain and horror he called the Jews during the Holocaust in a desire never to experience such tragic events, Jews or any other people.
Kurti writes on his Facebook that we condemn any echo of another's exclusive political mentality, writes Periscope.
Kurt Posting:
Today, we commemorate the horrors of the Jews during the Holocaust with the desire never to experience such tragic events as Jews or any other people.
We Albanians know, unfortunately, what it is to be unwanted, second-hand ethnicity, which can be persecuted, violated, destroyed, disappeared, by order of powers and states which kill a people in the name of a people.
Perhaps the similarities in painful historical experiences led Albanians to preserve as many Jews as they could with them eight decades ago, and others trying to escape Nazi rage. The defense of the victims was not meant for glory, not thanks, but just why it should. It's human. To follow the orders of power against human conscience means to turn yourself into a machine and its consequences were fatal, at the time of Nazi-fascistism, but also later with genocides near us and us, once in Srebrenica, and then at Recak, Krusha, Mej...
The Holocaust, this unique event in terror and pain - this low peak of human activity - must be remembered forever - in Israel and around the world. In respect for over 6 million victims, and in a vow that each of us, in our small and daily space, condemn any echo of the other's disfellowshipped political mentality, especially its own destructive extreme.
