Roger Torrent, before becoming a spokesman, had told of “Guardian” that he hoped for a dialogue with the state of Spain, as well as Catalonia urgently needed a new government and to end direct rule by Madrid.
The regime has been under the control of the Spanish government since October, where Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy responded to Puigdemont citing Article 155 of the constitution to dismiss his separatist administration and call new elections, reports The Guardian<18x1>, broadcast Periscopi.
“We need a new appointment as soon as possible, so we can have a government that is effective and that can go on eliminating Article 155 from the Catalonian political landscape,” said Torrent.
“Carles Puigdemont is the only candidate. He has been nominated by the parliamentary majority, in a parliamentary democracy,” he added. /Periscopi/
