Shala has appealed to merchants to import toys that are standardized by the European Union and are not harmful to the health of children.
We've taken measures and blocked all sorts of toys that have resulted as harmful. We're expecting environmental permission from the Ministry of Environment and I'm about to make a decision on destroying toys. At the same time, I take the opportunity to ask all importers not to bring toys that are out of the European Union's standards. My idea is not to hurt businesses, businessmen or importers of toys, but I ask them to import European standards to toys”, the minister stressed.
Minister Shala has said inspections of toys, but other products will be added, which, according to him, are part of the MTI priorities.
“Inspections will continue even more frequent than they have been until now, and in inspections I will participate myself. But I once again require all importers to import products that meet European Union standards in Kosovo. In this form we preserve the future of our children and our country”, Shala said.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry has sent several months ago for 15 toys, which 12 have not passed use tests.
