In a Facebook post, Osmani stressed that Engel was far more than a political supporter, adding that he loved the people of Kosovo with all his heart and stood by him both in times of challenge and success.
A great man, a good man, a rare friend of Kosovo, left us today! Congresswoman Eliot Engel was far more than just a supportive Kosovo conventioner. He loved the people of Kosovo with all his heart and was with us in challenges and successes.
Wherever I traveled around the world, I met leaders telling me: “Eliot Engel called us to ask for recognition of Kosovo”, as well as others who said: “I signed the recognition of Kosovo because I promised Elliot Engel. Whatever I met in Congress, it said: > You have had a great friend here, always talking about Kosovo. ”
He never stopped such help and support, even when his condition deteriorated. In fact, he was our voice at the U.S. Congress and beyond. Therefore, his memory will be permanent in the hearts of all Kosovo citizens! Thank you, Elliot Engel. God bless your white soul” wrote Osman.
