Without providing additional details, Trump appeared optimisticly during statements to reporters as he left the White House for a visit to Iowa. We remember that the negotiating teams of Russia and Ukraine met last weekend in Abu Dhabi, in talks mediated by American officials.
Trump also added that he had held “an excellent” conversation with Syria President Ahmed al-Saraa.
His statements come at a time when Washington is engaged in intensive diplomatic movements to achieve a permanent ceasefire and a political solution between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the former US's main ally in Syria, and the Saraa government, now considered Washington's main partner in the country.
Also, Trump made a series of brief statements to journalists, stressing that “very good things are happening” in front of Ukraine and Russia.
The American president also announced that customs director Tom Homen will meet in Minneapolis with the city's governor and mayor.
Commenting on monetary policy, Trump reiterated his desire for lowering interest rates from the Federal Reserve (Fed).
