Abdixhiku calls the LDK Parliament, where he decides for his presidential destiny, held on Thursday (April 6th)

The LDK issued a communiqué to the media, announcing public opinion and membership that Abdixhiku, “in the exercise of competencies and obligations set out with the party statue, has made the decision to call the Democratic League of Kosovo's extraordinary Assembly, after completing the statute of verification procedures submitted by the Assembly delegates”.

The LDK General Secretariat has carried out verification of all signatures submitted, in line with the Statut provisions. This process has found that the statuteary criteria of at least one third (1/3) of the Assembly delegates needed for calling out of place have been met. In implementing statuteary obligations and without delay after the completion of the verification process, the LDK chairman has decided that the extraordinary Assembly would be held Thursday, July 30, 2026, beginning at 18:00x1>, it is said in communiqués.

The site of holding the Assembly and other organisational details will be communicated to delegates in accordance with the procedures outlined by the Statti, the LDK says.

The Democratic League of Kosovo says the <x0 needs committed to the whole process being carried out in full accordance with the party's statue, with democratic principles, institutional transparency and respect for the will of the Assembly delegates”.

At LDK headquarters, some 150 LDK delegates seeking the dismissal of the party chairman have been admitted and verified.

Due to this initiative, Abdixhiku suspended talks with Vetevendosje Movement last week for the formation of new institutions.

Abdixhiku has warned that this process could damage the LDK “in advance from inside and leave Kosovo without institutions and potentially in the face of new elections in autumn”.

The LDK's extraordinary Assembly should be held 60 days from signing day, according to this party's statute.

The LDK Assembly has 355 delegates, including the chairman.
