Bajrami seeks change in LDK: Party needs to be re-established, not an annex

The elected MP of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Hykmete Bajrami, has declared that the party needs internal change in order to return strongly to the political scene.
Through a reaction, Bajrami has said that the extraordinary LDK Assembly, which is held this Thursday, should not be seen as confronting individuals, but as a decision on the future of the political subject.
She has stressed that the LDK has spent three electoral processes since 2021 without reaching the winner, ending as the third party, and according to her, these results require political reflection and responsibility.
Bajrami has recalled that after the December 2025 elections, he had demanded the resignation of President Lumir Abdixhiku, while also resigning from the party's deputy chairmanship.
According to her, the LDK needs a new leadership approach that unites membership, respects opinion and is based on contribution merit.
“The LDK should not be annexing any other political party. It must enter the elections to win and be the most serious option for citizens”, Bajrami has declared.
It has called for the extraordinary Assembly to serve as an opportunity for a new start and strengthening the party, stressing that the change, according to it, is necessary for the recovery of the LDK.
