Thousands of euros in circulation at wedding season: ATK targets singers, halls, and other businesses

The wedding season, which generates huge financial circulation, has set Kosovo Tax Administration in motion.
The institution has launched increased controls to verify the income declaration and the fulfilment of tax duties from dozens of activities that benefit from hosting family holidays.
Kosovo's Tax Administration has intensified operational operations and controls of businesses and individuals offering weddings, parties and other family organisations, in a period when this sector registers high financial circulation.
According to ATK, controls will focus on verifying the fulfilment of tax duties by subjects operating in this industry during the summer season.
Focusing on inspections will be wedding halls and hotels, singers and musical groups, DJs, photographers and photographers, as well as businesses offering ceremonial dress, including wedding dresses and costumes.
Controls will also be conducted on modelup artists, Hajrstylists and Freserts, companies handling halls, event organisers, special lighting and effects providers, as well as companies “Rent a Car” offering vehicles for weddings.
The list of activities that will be monitored also includes the sweeties that prepare cake and other wedding products, as well as the florists who perform arrangements and flower decorations.
The ATK has called on citizens to co-operate with the institution, reporting the alleged cases of inhalation, failure to reduce fiscal coupons or avoid tax duties. Reports can be made through electronic platform DENONCO or through the Call Center at 038 222 165.
The institution recalls that any business or individual offering services to pay is obliged to declare revenues and pay taxes in line with legislation in force.
Even last year, ATK had appealed to singers, artists and subjects involved in the entertainment industry to respect tax duties.
This intensified period of artistic engagements does not exclude anyone from legal responsibilities. Tax payment is a legal obligation”, said in the institution's announcement.
The administration appeals for regular income statements and payment, aimed at avoiding legal penalties.
According to ATK data, during January alone, 2024, 2.3m euros of taxes have been collected by singers, which according to the institution reflects a significant increase in statements and tax payments from artists and musical industry performers.
