The number of young people affected by heart disease is on the rise, including patients aged 20 to 30.
So declared cardiologist Daut Gorani in an interview for Online Economy.
He said that in recent months cases of very young patients who have been presented with acute coronary syndrome have been addressed.
The last “has been noted as an increasing trend for the young heart disease. We received patients aged 22 months ago, then 23-24. So, from 20 to 30 years of age, it has been investigated that there are recently many patients that come with acute coronary syndrome”, he said.
According to Goran, this increase is directly related to risk factors, where smoking, drug use, unhealthy food, and stress are listed at the top.
The “is disturbing and is due to risk factors. Smoking is primarily for young people, smoking is very present. Drug abuse is also sometimes because drugs cause the opening of coronary arteries, heart arteries. Then we have poorness, obesity is very present recently, young people use a lot of fast food, fast food and lots of fats and lots of sugar”, he said.
He added that even stress, diabetes, and genetic factors play a major role in early exposure to heart disease.
Then it's stress, stress is one of the very, very important factors. Life is very dynamic, the various problems of young people and the rise in blood cortisone levels causes much, so to say, a chain of disorders in the organism and, of course, causes heart attacks. Then there is the presence of diabetes, and young people are recently being diagnosed with diabetes. Then we have genetics, genetic factors can say they're a crucial factor. All these risk factors may be lacking, but if the genetic factor is present, it comes to the disease at an early age. Or all factors may be present, but if the genetic factor is not, surprisingly those patients do not have heart problems”, he said.
Speaking of prevention, Goran urged the return of anti-smoking measures in public spaces and more healthy lifestyle education.
“A while state institutions have taken restrictive stakes in the use of tobacco in locals or in public places, but I investigate that in recent times these have been cancelled and that smoking is widely present at local sites. Returning rigorous smoking measures, this is my” appeal, he said.
He stressed the importance of healthy nutrition, physical activity and control of other health factors.
“It is youth education for food mode, it means malnutrition as a factor should be reduced to a maximum. To motivate young ones to feed healthyly and then to pursue physical activity. There has to be physical activity, enrollment in sports teams, gyms, and others. Physical commitment is very important. All these potentially modified risk factors, the adjustment of arterial tension, and blood pressure is one of the risk factors. Obessity, to regulate body weight, those with sugar problems to regulate diabetes levels, to reduce stress activity”, he said.
Finally, Goran appealed for increased caution on the use of drugs.
For young people in particular, we don't have much of the consumption of drugs in Western countries, I appeal that they are very careful and never consume drugs, because they can't imagine what disorder in the organism is causing. In addition to other organ injuries, blood vessels are also highly affected by drug use”, he said. /Periscope
