More than 50 commissioners associated with vote-rigging allegations lie in Gjakova, Malisheva and wider

Associated commissioners are being interviewed on suspicion about:

Intervention on vote counting,

Incompatible with final results,

Abuse of official duty during the election process.

According to information, a considerable number of escorts are expected to be banned for 48 hours, with the decision of the competent Prosecutor, following the analysis of material evidence and statements collected during the investigation.

Investigations are being conducted by the Agency for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption, in full co-ordination with the Prosecutor, while the case is considered one of the most serious investigations into election manipulation in recent years.

Sources stress that the operation is still under way and no bans and expansion of investigations on other persons, including senior officials in managing the election process, are excluded. /Periscope
