From discussions with representatives of municipal sports directors, but also for sports federation directors, the Sport Ministry has received many recommendations for changes in the draft of the sports bill.
The current draft bill is considered to have many shortcomings that need to be improved urgently. Former Sports Minister Vlora Dumosh has said this minister is aiming to take full control of federations.
Shasivvar Hadijaj of the Federation of Navour has said that through certain points of this law, it is trying to directly violate freedom of sport.
According to him, this law also weakens the power of the Kosovo Olympic Committee on sports federations. The chairman of the Arbitrazhi Sport Commission, Erroll Salihu, estimates that the Sports Ministry cannot interfere with the independence of the federations, as in such a case it would face the Law for Sports that strictly prohibits such a thing.
After consultations with all organisations and the sports community in Kosovo, the new Sport Bill will go to the Kosovo Assembly, where it is expected to be voted to become a applicable law in the country.
