The death of the young man at the workplace in Prizren, Azem: Inspector S.C., he manages to monitor all risks.

A young man has suffered a tragic loss at his workplace in Prizren today, after being hit by a concrete pump during his duties.
The case has raised concerns about the safety of workers in Kosovo, while Kosovo Independent Private Sector Union Chairman Yusuf Azemi said it is the 13th victim in the workplace since the beginning of the year.
He also accused the Labour Inspectorate of failing to comply.
Azem for Online Economy said the number of fatal cases is continuing to increase and that the situation is alarming.
Even today we have to start this, we're saying, with the death of a young man who died in Prizren municipality. The young man who was only 24 years old, who was hit by a concrete pump for which he was working at his workplace. I repeat, this is the 13th case from January 1st to today”, Azemi said.
According to him, responsibility for these cases falls both on private companies and on state institutions that are tasked with overseeing working conditions.
“Arsyet why these are happening is that company owners are not in the right order, are not managing or respecting the law on security and health at work. Apart from company owners, normal that state institutions, in particular the ministry, in particular the Labour Inspectorate is unable and can't afford to oversee all risks in their workplaces, and has come to this, what unfortunately 2025 and this 2026 year, according to all likelihood, will be the worst year in terms of the deaths of workers in their” jobs, he said.
The head of the SPS stressed that the solution does not require extraordinary measures, but respect for the law and increased care from all parties involved.
There should be no philosophy or wisdom whatsoever. This should all be done with respect to the law on safety and health at work, an enormous vigilance of company owners, but more or less of the workers. Perhaps it would not have been eliminated overall, because even in other parts of the world workers die, but not in so many as it is happening to us”, Azemi said.
He also spoke of the social situation of the victim's family, seeking institutional support from the Kosovo government.
So we can actually say what we're having a problem with right now, say that maybe tomorrow there won't be enough means for the funeral and pay ceremony. So we are also repeating the demand that this family should be officially assisted by the Government of Kosovo”, Azemi added. /Periscope/
