The International Journalists' Federation reacts to the KPM that fined media in Kosovo: This is a form of censorship.

The president of the International Federation of Journalists, Zuliana Laianez, has sent a message of support to journalists and the media in Kosovo who have been subject to fines by the Independent Media Commission.
She, in the message published by the Kosovo Journalists' Association, has said there can be no censorship on critical media in democracy.
“For us, no kind of regulation should violate international judicial order, respect for freedom of the press, and impose economic sanctions on media that are critical, because that is a form of censorship. Democracy needs free journalism. Solidarity with our colleagues”, Lanez said.
The International Journalists' Federation represents about 600,000 media professionals from 187 unions and associations in more than 140 countries around the world.
During a first meeting several days, the Independent Media Commission has imposed fines on some media concerning reporting during the February 2025 elections.
AGK Chairman Xhemajl Rexha has said that KPM thus “aims to discipline the media and direct their editorial policies, which is an unacceptable blow to media freedom and expression in Kosovo”,
He has said this is “the confirmation of this institution's capture by Vetevendosje”. /Periscope
