Energy crisis: Germany takes control of 3 Russian-owned oil refinerys

Germany has taken control of three Russian-owned oil refinerys in the country to ensure energy security. Two branches of Russian oil giant Rosneft Deutschland GmbH and RN Refining Marketing GmbH will be put under the management of Germany's Federal Network Agency. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this decision comes after [...]
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this decision comes long after Russia is no longer a reliable energy supplier. He added that with the takeover of refinerys Germany will be supplied with oil in the medium and long term.
This is a broad energy policy decision to protect our country. We have long known that Russia is no longer a reliable energy supplier. With today's decision, we are ensuring that Germany will be supplied with oil in the medium and long term”, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said.
Rosneft accounts for about 12% of German oil processing capacity, importing oil worth several hundred million euros (doors) each month.
The measure will help secure continued energy supplies and will initially last six months.
Rosneft had earlier made it clear that he had no intention of preventing oil imports through the Druzba pipeline, which runs from Russia through Ukraine to the refinerys in Central Europe, despite a close EU embargo that enters into force on January 1st 2023. /rtsh
