(an hour ago)A prisoner has lost his life at the Dubrava Correcting Centre, after allegedly committing self-independence in the ward where people with special needs are located.
The news has been confirmed through a joint announcement by the Kosovo Correcting Service and the Health Department of Prisons.
According to the announcement, correctional officials have encountered in the case of the prisoner's self-dependence with the K.N. initials. in ward D of the Dubrava Correcting Centre.
At any given time, corrective officials and medical personnel have responded urgently by offering the first aid and transporting the prisoner to treatment at the Regional Hospital in Pec”, the report said.
However, despite the intervention of the correct staff and the medical team, the prisoner has failed to survive injuries and has passed away.
Authorities have indicated that the competent Kosovo Police and Prosecutor have immediately been announced as investigative and administrative procedures have been initiated to fully clarify the circumstances of the event.
The Kosovo Correcting Service and the Health Department of Prisons have stressed that investigations will determine all the details related to the case.
