Major Police-Procury Action - AKI: Covering 60kg of Drugs, 4 Arrested

A several-month operation conducted by security institutions has led to the discovery and sequencing of a significant amount of narcotics substances in Kosovo. Four people, including citizens of Kosovo, Serbia and Albania, have ended up in handcuffs under narcotics trafficking allegations.
The Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina has announced that the action has been carried out in co-operation with the Kosovo Agency for Intelligence (AKI) and the Kosovo Police, the Directorate for Trafficking in Narcotics, respectively.
After several months of investigation, as well as the implementation of separate investigative measures, action has been conducted in two locations in Pristina's municipality and in the village of Babush of the Ferizaj municipality, where as a result some 60kg of suspected narcotic substance of marijuana” has been seized, the prosecution's announcement said.
According to authorities, four suspected persons have been arrested during the operation. One of them is citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, two are citizens of the Republic of Serbia, while one citizen of the Republic of Albania.
The prosecution has indicated that the 48-hour ban has been imposed on suspects.
“With the State Prosecutor's decision, suspects have been assigned the detention measure for 48 hours, because the same are suspected of carrying out criminal work {Blerja, possession, distribution and unauthorised selling of narcotics, psychotrope substances and analogue”, the communiques say.
In addition to the amount of narcotics, two vehicles and one truck were seized during the action, allegedly used in illegal activities.
“During this action have been seized about 60kg of suspected narcotic substance of marijuana type, two cars and a” truck, the prosecution reports.
Meanwhile, the State Prosecutor has warned that within the legal deadline he will apply for the appointment of the detention measure, aimed at securing the presence of suspects in criminal procedure.
The Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina has stressed that in close co-operation with the Kosovo Police will continue the commitment to combat criminality, strengthen rule of law and bring to justice those who clash with the law.
