Three Saudi-flagged supertankers carrying 6 million barrels of crude oil passed through the Hormuz Strait today, hours after US President Donald Trump signed the deal with Iran to end a war that has cut off global power supplies.

According toReuters, at the same time, several other ships that had operated on their transponders turned off during the Middle East conflict began to reveal their positions again.

Three other tankers were loaded near the port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, with two already headed for Europe.

The presidents of the United States and Iran signed an initial peace agreement aimed at ending the war between the two countries, causing it to enter into force immediately.

The deal envisioned the reopening of the Hormuz Strait, a $300 billion plan for Iran's “reconstruction”, and the removal of all US sanctions on Tehran./ T CH
