According to INSTAT, at the end of 2021, the number of foreigners with residence permits in Albania resulted in 14,921 residents, undergoing growth of 9.6% compared to 2020.
The number of residents in 2021 is dominated by men with 63.0, % against women by 37.0%.
The number of applications for residence permits in Albania in 2021 was 9,106 applications, marking an increase of 18.9% compared to 2020.
Foreign residents originally from Iran, Italy and Kosovo make up the largest number of foreigners with residence permits in Albania to 2021, with 2,586, 2.324 and 1,869, respectively.
Foreigners originally from Europe, in 2021, resulted in 8,812 residents, making up 59.1% of total foreigners against 56.8% in 2020.
The reason for employment is the main reason for foreign residence permits in Albania in 2021, with 47.7%.
