The Albanian Electronic Corporation has acquired energy at the price of 430 euros last week for megawatt hours, reaching historic resolutions. The energy price on the Hungarian Stock Exchange reached 417 euros a day ago and 390 euros this Friday.
KESH has spent 3.5m euros a day to buy energy. For the entire July, bills for energy security total 50m euros.
High energy prices in import have forced the Albanian Electronic Corporation to increase energy production in the face of additional consumer demand.
Power reserves have reached 0.9 gigaves hours from 1 gigavat, which was 10 days ago. But despite growing production, Albania has failed to cope with the need for consumption itself.
40% of energy demand is being imported, while the level in the Fierza hydropower plant has dropped by 4m compared to the beginning of the month.
Fierza has reached 285m, while Komani and Vau of the Sea are located in quotas of 177 and 73m. (GRAFIK)
K ESH has bought 50,000 megawatts hours of energy last week and has opened another tender for the purchase of a similar amount for the coming days.
According to prices where the electricity bill for July and August is headed, it is expected to reach 100m euros.
