The head of the African Union meets with Putin: Consider African Homes' Suffering for Food

The Russian president welcomed Sally, who is president of Senegal at his Black Sea residence in Sochi, where they discussed global food shortages and the jam of wheat supplies in Ukrainian ports.
Sal asked Putin of “that our countries, although far from the war zone, are victims of an economic level of” of conflict, the AFP reports.
“Anything related to food, wheat and fertilizer should be outside Western sanctions against Russia”, Sal said, adding that because of sanctions “we no longer have access to wheat from Russia and especially the fertilizers” which is key to Africa's “agroculature deficit”.
And Putin said that: “in this new phase of development, we place a particular importance on our relations with African countries, and I can say that this meeting has had a positive” result.
