(4 years ago)Ehat Miftaraj of the IKD has said that commenting on judicial decisions is interference in his independence. He made these comments after statements by LVV members who rejected the Prizren Foundation Court ruling. The latter sentenced Islam Thaci, former director of Prizren Inspectorate [...] to three years in prison.
Miftaraj has made these comments in é Facebook, adding that political statements negatively influence the self-requisite demanded by the ruling party.
There is no alternative to Vetting, but with such political statements, the ruling party does not help popular demand and the need for Vetting in the judicial and prosecutorial system, rather it is damaging that order”, he wrote.
The co-ordination of court decisions (right, unfair, unfounded) on the part of political parties is direct interference in the independence of the constitutional system”, Miftaraj has said among other things.
The European Commission through the progress report does not occasionally pose as serious problems politicisation and policy interference in the Kosovo judicial system”.
