Czech Republic Becomes First Country NATO carrying tanks to Ukraine

But today's decision by the Czech Republic marks a step forward in military supplies towards Kiev. For the first time, a place of NATO will send tanks, specifically Soviet T-72 tanks, well-known to the Ukrainian Army.

The Czech public channel has shown a train loaded with heavy equipment, part of a aid package that includes armoured vehicles BVP-1 and heavy artillery.

The official Prague decision in diplomatic circles is somehow seen with concern because it may be an excuse for a strong Kremlin response.

The Pentagon does not officially support the delivery of tanks to Ukraine, not only because of fear of an increase in conflict, but rather because they do not believe such tools can be useful, preferring the Yavelin systems, for which today a $100 million fund for Kiev has been approved.

Meanwhile, Czech Republic and Slovakia have declared that they are willing to repair Ukrainian vehicles on their territory, as part of concrete aid often sought by Ukrainian President Volody Zelensky, broadcasts a2cn.

Beyond the Czech aid, it does not appear that there will be an important supply of heavy combat tools from NATO countries. Germany has declared sending several armoured vehicles, Great Britain will only send ambulances, while the idea of Mig aircraft from Poland was disfellowshipped, at least for the moment.

Meanwhile, military experts estimate that Ukrainians spend in a single day, the amount of weapons coming from their friends in a week.
