Vuciq: In November, construction of the “Autostrada Peace” and the Nis-Pristina gas pipeline begins

Serbian head of state Aleksandar Vucic has said today that early in November this year, construction of the first section of the Nis-Merdare Highway will begin, until at the same time it has announced that construction of the 114km-long Nis-Pristina gas pipeline will also begin, writes Cossev. He has said that the works will begin in mid-September and early November, where the first leg of the Nis-Merdare Highway will begin, that is, the first 5.5 kilometers.
Vuciq has said this will be one of the most difficult areas for highway construction.
From that 77 kilometers, we'll have 85 bridges, 18 kilometers will be through the tunnels. We'll make sure we finish it as soon as possible”, Vuchic said.
He says it will be necessary to allocate 255m euros for this section of the highway, of which the EU will provide 40m, for which he thanked the Europeans.
The Nis-Merdare Highway, which must be linked to Pristina, has been speaking for years.
Proposal to build “autostrada peace” Nis-Pristina-Durra is within the project mentioned in the Washington Agreement, until earlier it was mentioned even in 2015 when Vuciq was prime minister and attended the Vienna Summit for the Western Balkans.
