The Federation of Kosovo Health Unions has closely followed the Kosovo Government's meeting held today at 25.08.2021, at which the meeting at the 17th point of the agenda was preceded by the adoption of the proposal for the allocation of budgetary means to many 2.7m euros for paying additionals in pay based on the No decision. 13/19e on 14.07.2021 for the measure of 4.1 health support under the Economic Resurrection Pack, which envisions the support of public sector-employed health workers in the 10% gross salary and no less than 60 euros for August, Saturday and October 2021.
The FSSHK expresses the deep indignation and frustration of health workers in this decision as health workers have worked and offered health services even during June and July 2021, with the case violated Law No.07/ L-006 for preventing and combating Pandemia COVID-19 on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, respectively, on the 20th article, in which the addition is put forward to pay for employees in the health sector during the COVID-19 Pandemia.
With this decision Government in front of the people is trying to be popular and supportive of the alleged health workers, but in fact this is just a recent degradation.
The FSSHK after continuing efforts to develop social dialogue with the Ministry of Health, as well as the Government of the Republic of Kosovo address the general population, and in particular, health workers that today's decision is scandalous and discouraging, would have been better off not to mention the additions at all and to work in the drafting of the peace law which is vital to workers in the public sector in particular for health workers.
The FSSHK that today is contacting its forums and next week the Steering Council will be meeting as the highest decision-making body to decide on union reactions.
In the end, with this approach of the Government of Kosovo towards health workers, there will be no social peace, and for all the damages caused responsible will be the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
The FSSHK will find union reactions mode not affecting the delivery of health services to the wider population.
