Edita Tahiri-Kurt: Go to US, show Kosovo's stance on dialogue with Serbia

At Prime Minister Albin Kurti's address yesterday has reached the congratulations of State Department Secretary Antony Blinken, in which the letter is confirmed the US full support for Kosovo. And in his congratulations, the U.S. secretary told Kurt he welcomed his vows to fight corruption, empower [the] rule....
In addition, Blinken has been clear in terms of mediated dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
He has said he expects Kosovo to engage productively and without delay in dialogue with Serbia.
“Kosovo must also engage productively and without delay in the dialogue with Serbia, supported by the US and facilitated by the EU”, writes Blinken in his pity for Prime Minister Kurti.
Furthermore, on paper, he has said securing an comprehensive normalisation agreement with Serbia, focused on mutual recognition, is essential for Kosovo to achieve its full potential and move forward on the path towards EU membership.
Edita Tahiri, former head of the Kosovo delegation in talks with Serbia, has said Blinken's message for dialogue between the two countries should be seriously understood.
The strategic relations with the United States are at the core of foreign policy and within our vision for one Euro-Atlantic Kosovo. The message about the dialogue that US Secretary of State Blinken has delivered in his letter should be seriously understood by the new Kosovo government”, Tahiri said.
The former deputy prime minister of Kosovo even has advice for Kurt. According to Tahiri, Prime Minister Kurti's first visit should be to the US.
“Brussels must first go on US to negotiate strategic and geopolitical issues related to Kosovo and peace in the Balkan region, and to introduce Kosovo's positions that only mutual recognition with current borders and in support of constitution Kosovo is the key to stability and peace in the region and the key to closing the chapter of hostilities with Serbia. That's what I did when I took the role of chief negotiator in 2011, I first went to Washington and then I went in. Brussels”, Tahiri said.
Kurti, a winner of the elections, had repeated several times that dialogue with Serbia is not one of his top priorities.
I'm not saying that I'm not going to deal with dialogue, but it's not a priority for citizens or mine” had been short Kurti when he was asking about talks with Serbia.
Tahiri, who was also a member of the Kosovo delegation at the Rambouillet Conference, told Reporter.net that serious states are clear that partnership with strategic allies should be developed.
“As to the issue of priorities in foreign policy, serious states and who are aware of foreign policy bear in mind that partnership and co-ordination should be developed with strategic allies, in our case with the US and European partners, on major issues involving peace, stability and the Euro-Atlantic future. I hope and encourage the new government to make maximum efforts to develop a wise and Western diplomacy”, Tahiri said.
We remember that the Kosovo-Serbia diaologist, which started a decade ago, has not yet continued since Albin Kurti's new government was sworn in.
