Israeli ambassador after removing the flag from protesters: Act that shames Albanian people

Israel's Ambassador to Albania, Galit Peleg, has reacted after protesters removed the Israeli flag from the embassy in Tirana.

Peleg has declared that he respects citizens' right to protest but that such an act harms Albania's image and shames its people.

“As ambassador of a democratic state, I believe in the right of the Albanian people to exercise their civic right to protest. However, such an act not only does not advance the public protest, but also shames the Albanian people and their proud legacy”, Peleg said.

Peleg also thanked Ferit Hoxha and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, who, through responses on Facebook, condemned the removal and tear of Israel's flag from the embassy in Tirana. /Periscope/
