Kosovo-Israel Investment Corps opened: Economics professor talks about what Kurt must do

The opening of the liaison office for economic co-operation between Kosovo and Israel has been talked about Periscope by Economics Professor Medain Hashani, who has said this issue is dependent on the future government's priority, writes Periscopi.

The opening of an economic liaison office in Israel, on the part of Kosovo institutions, is somehow dependent on priorities that the future Government will have. The future government must first be positioned because, will the opening of the Kosovo Embassy in Jerusalem, as we have unclear statements on Mr. Kurti, who has declared that he will review the agreement signed in the US by the preliminary government. So first the position of how the incoming Government will act has to be known, he said.

On the other hand, Hashan stressed the future Government must set economic priorities in order to attract visitors, and that change of policies for economic development must be made to have any economic impact on Israel's liaison office.

The opening of the Economic Liaison Office in Israel, on the part of Kosovo institutions, is in a way dependent on priorities the future Government will have. The future government must first be positioned because, will the opening of the Kosovo Embassy in Jerusalem, as we have unclear statements on Mr. Kurti, who has declared that he will review the agreement signed in the US by the preliminary government.

So first the position of how the incoming Government will act should be known. Then, to take effect, such an office is needed by the incoming Government to determine economic priorities in order to attract investors from Israel to invest in Kosovo.

The future government needs to think about economic development, which can be made only through the creation of the national economic development strategy, to create the economic area for foreign and domestic investors, to make a study of Kosovo's feasibility economy, in which sector Kosovo has economic development capacities, to become the identification of those capacities, to offer potential investors from Israel in this case, to make the state pledge for foreign investors for investment security, change tax policies based on the national economic development strategy, and to ensure that in Kosovo there will be budget stability.

So based on these challenges that I mentioned above, without having serious interference with the new government in these challenges, with the current policies Kosovo has, I don't think there will be any impact on the economy of Kosovo. So there's a need to make the necessary changes that I've mentioned to you for this office to have any effect.
