Bass were also put under the building, and the couple's baby was thrown out of the building, writes the BBC.
She was sent to hospital in critical condition but was taught she was already recovering.
One of the young men involved in the rescue, Tahmidi, said the decision to throw the baby off the balcony “was the last possible solution” after the smoke swallowed up the apartment.
The fire included other residences in the building, and firefighters saved many others.
Kenza Zakar, the leader of the local youth group Bien-theer et solidie Pays de la Loire, told the BBC that she had organised the family's salvation as local residents were waiting to reach fire services.
Her husband was among the first young men to climb the building.
It is calling for the already three persons involved in the rescue, who were immigrants, to be given letters and shelters. /Periscope
