He thanked Macron specifically for co-operation in the Belgrade subway construction project, while as he said before the meeting, he also spoke about Kosovo.
The Kosovo and Metohija issue is a very important issue for us and is not at all easy. We all need to work on reaching a compromise solution for both sides, which has not been so far. I was always willing to listen to President Macron and his ideas. Let's try to get close to a deal. I will present our platform to President Macron and I am sure that we will have an honest and open agreement and that we will achieve something in the future”, Vuciq said.
He said another topic, also important, is Serbia's path towards the EU.
Serbia has shown its skills. Now we are dealing with Serbia's European path, when President Macron proposed a new agenda for this. We agreed on this. [...] I hope with his support we will continue our” trip, the Serbian president said.
Meanwhile, France's President Emmanuel Macron thanked Vuciqi for the visit and offered the “opened” on the road to normalisation and achievement of peace.
“Consult at my doors, and I will continue to be with you until we achieve progress on this road, on the road to normalisation, but also on the path that brings stability and peace to the region and I know that this is your target”, Macron said.
“We will do everything we can to be with the people of Serbia”, he added.
