Punishers and survivors said the soldiers, some young men [17 years], had gathered villagers before separating men and killing them.
Videos and images of incidents seem to show that most of those killed were first tortured and then buried in the pits.
The killings occurred in July, in four separate incidents at Kani Townsip é, an opposition base in the Sagaing District in Central Myanmar, the BBC reports.
The killings are thought to be a collective punishment for attacks by guerrilla groups demanding the return of democracy after the military stamp took place in February.
A military government spokesman did not deny these claims. /Periscope
