Canada urges some citizens to hand over citizenship certificates, that's why

Some who have received evidence of candasi citizenship under legislation known as the Lost “Canadians” are facing demands by authorities to hand over their citizenship certificates.
That's what immigration lawyer Amandeep Hayer announced.
Hayer has said one of his clients received a message from the immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada on Saturday, saying they should submit their citizenship certificate, reports ctvnews, broadcast Periscope.
The message says that the certificate should be handed over during an investigation because the application did not quote evidence from the Canadian family from original sources, such as living statistics, or explain why the original documents were not provided.
Hayer says that, based on Reddi's themes on this topic, he estimates that"s at least a few hundred people"have received similar letters.
The Canadian Press has contacted the office of Minister of Migration, Lena Diab, and IRCC for comment, but has not yet received an answer.
The changes made last year lifted certain restrictions on who can apply for Canadian citizenship based on origin. /Periscope
