CEC: If there are no complaints after counting mail and parole papers, final results will be announced

The Central Election Commission has explained what will happen after the completion of the balloting through mail and balloting from conditional voting and those by the voting of persons with special needs.

Asked whether the CEC would announce final results immediately after completing the count of these ballot papers, CEC spokesman Valmir Elez has indicated that this could be done if there were no complaints concerning the KNR's counting management. But if there are complaints, then the CEC will have to wait for their review.

“Of course that after completing the count of all these ballot papers, the CEC will expect the deadline for complaints concerning the management of the score in the QNR, as parties have the right to file complaints within 48 hours of the alleged violation. If there are no complaints, the CEC is ready to proceed with the announcement of final results, while if there are complaints, then the CEC will host the decision making of relevant institutions and implement the decisions if they impose the CEC on”, Elez said.

According to him, the CEC is currently in the final phase of counting ballots belonging to the vote outside Kosovo, respectively through mail. As we have planned, the count of all ballots from this vote will take place in midweeks, and also on count will include ballots from conditional voting and voting on persons with special needs.

Furthermore, Elez clarified that “in the plan of activities approved by the CEC, at the beginning of this election process, is scheduled to announce the results by 26 June, meanwhile, their Certificate by 6 July. We can say we're on a good track to make this faster than these” planning.

Also, according to him, “at the end of these numbers, the CEC will recount up to 10% of the deployments, whose ballots are pre-counted in the Municipal Counting Centres. This measure of control has been taken by the CEC to address the problems recorded in some of the Municipal Counting Centres during the number of votes of MPs from last December's elections, and aims to ensure that the count has been conducted accurately”.

According to CEC data, 83 ballot boxes in which the alleged ballot envelopes from the post office have been arranged. The total number of these packages that have been approved by the CEC is about 83,000.

The counting process has yet to include a small portion of the balloting that has so far not been counted. It's about the ballots belonging to the conditional vote, available at 52 conditional pollings, and where there are 8,751 voters and ballots from persons with special needs, where 3,144 registered.
